BJCP Beer Classes 2007
Purpose
Attend
the classes as preparation for judging in the upcoming competition, preparation
for the BJCP test, or just to increase your knowledge of beer and brewing.
Place
The classes will be held on
the third Wednesday of every month from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the
Deutsches-Haus.
Cost
The cost for members in good
standing will be $ 75.00 due at the first class, April 24, 2007.
This cost is for twelve classes, and will help defray the expense of the
handouts, materials and beer used for the classes.
Over 100 beers will be tasted, not including the doctored beers.
Non-members will be charged an additional $ 20.00 and be given a
membership card. Member who attend
at least 80% of the classes and take the BJCP test will be refunded the cost of
the test, not including travel cost.
The classes will follow the
BJCP Exam Study Guide. There will be
a technical part and a tasting part to each class.
The technical part will cover topics on ingredients, the brewing process
and beer flavors, etc. After the
technical part, commercials and homebrew examples of beer style groups will be
tasted and evaluated.
